Welcome to the Salty Hooker

My story: I (Kellee Hooker) started as a little girl growing up in Columbus, MT. I grew up in a family of rodeo people. We eat, sleep, breath rodeo. I became addicted at a young age. There was just something about training good rodeo horses with my mom and dad that made me who I am today. Dad started working with me on roping at a young age, and I really enjoy it. We, together with the help of my mom, made a really nice rope horse that led me to multiple state titles in the breakaway roping.

I then went on to college in 2013 on a rodeo scholarship, where I met the love of my life, Shane. We stayed in college and finished the year, then decided to get married, move back home and help his dad run the family cattle ranch here in Ryegate, MT. A couple years after working the ranch we welcomed our baby girl and later the two boys. We have been here the last 20 years and have no plans of leaving as our kids are in the Ryegate Public School.

We are a young couple that work hard every day running a big cattle and sheep operation along with raising quality horses. We have big plans for our future here at the ranch, and the multiple businesses that we run; The ranch, farming and the new business of 2025: Salty Hooker Essentials.

I started making tallow because my son had really bad dry skin. A friend told me that I needed to try to make it a business. After I made the first batch, a week later I cleared my shelf and have not looked back, this is the best change that I have made for myself and my family. I would Love to share with y’all.
